TAMMY WALTHER
Appraiser

Tammy has valued real estate on Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Hawaii, and Molokai.  Her valuations include fee simple and leased fee interests in commercial, resort, residential, multifamily, agriculture, golf course, and conservation properties.  She has prepared market rent studies for health care centers on Oahu, Hawaii, and Kauai, as well as estimated rents for church buildings.  Recently, she surveyed the timeshare market to evaluate their ownership structure and operation, as well as the real property assessment policies of the counties of Maui, Kauai, and Hawaii.

Her assignments range from large to small.  She has estimated the market values of thousands of acres of agricultural lands for proposed conservation easements and the market value of a single parking stall in Honolulu.  She has assisted in litigation support assignments and analyzed the impact of construction defects and litigation on the values of condominium units.

Tammy brings to the Company a unique background in residential real estate appraising and journalism.  Before joining John Child and Company, she was a real estate appraiser assistant and a reporter in residency with the Medill News Service on Capitol Hill.

Tammy graduated with honors from Punahou School.  She received her bachelor’s degree Cum Laude from Northwestern University and master’s degree from Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism.
